Flamenco Rosario is Western Canada’s leading Flamenco Dance Troupe residing in Vancouver, BC. They welcome you to join them as they whisk you off to Spain to experience their ‘Cuadro Flamenco Series’ a spirited event celebrating the traditional, intimate setting of flamenco performance. Originated in the mid 1800’ era of “Café Cantantes”, and continuing today in Spain’s “Tablao Flamenco”.
The form showcases the personal style of dancers, musicians and singers, all sharing the stage. In keeping with the “tablao” tradition the evening’s program follows the spontaneity and improvisational nature of flamenco. The dancers perform for the “Cuadro” behind them as well as the audience in front. A healthy dose of competition is an important part of the show, as is the rapport among the performers and with the audience. Don’t be afraid to shout out “Olé” when the mood strikes you!

Artistic Director, Rosario Ancer was just honoured with the prestigious Lola Award since is presented to a senior-level choreographer every two years. Read the article here.
