Spirit of British Columbia
The Spirit of British Columbia was created to help build economic opportunities throughout the province. The objective of 2010 Legacies Now is to ensure that
Olympic and non-Olympic community developments continue, beyond 2010 and are shared throughout the province. The Spirit of BC Community Committee for Dawson Creek is chaired Charlie Parslow. The Community Committee is developed to enhance local programs and events related to the Spirit of BC.

The Spirit of BC Week February 3-10, 2006
The Spirit of BC Week is a Province wide event designed to engage the public in the areas of sport and recreation, arts and culture, literacy and volunteerism. The Spirit of BC week was successfully celebrated in Dawson Creek with the Speed Skating competitions. Dawson Creek hosted the 2006 Canada Post Long Track Speed Skating Championships. Speed skaters from all over Canada came to compete in the nationally recognized event

Cody Hay (428 KB)

Skated with the Mile O Skating Club in the mid 1990's Cody is now on track to compete in Vancouver's 2010 Olympics.

Doug Van Spronsen (384 KB)

Now competing at an international level Doug had began playing Volleyball in Dawson Creek.

Kolton Chapman (569 KB)

Kolton began speed skating at the age of three in Dawson Creek Speed Skating Club. Now he is training for Olympic contention in 2010.

Sadie Mattson (555 KB)

Trains daily to make the Canadian swim team. She holds the title of Dawson Creek's 2005 Athlete of the year.

Chelsea Moore (457 KB)

One of Canada's most promising cowgirls.
