Join Doig River First Nation and BC Parks in celebrating the very first Kema Experience in a park! Kema, meaning a “a good place in nature” is an innovative space that empowers people to feel Rooted, Connected, Transformed, and Energized through the fusion of contemporary art with Indigenous culture.
Kema Experience engages the whole family through multi-sensory and interactive exhibits – learn, inquire, and play as you explore the Dane-zaa culture. Enjoy the rhythm of the drums, inspire your creative side through painting and beading, immerse yourself in the past by touching ancient artifact, or smell the scents of traditional plants as you wander throughout Dane-zaa structures and one-of-a-kind exhibits. Like a chose your own adventure, participate each day to see, hear, smell, or experience something different.
Experience in this unique event – the first of its kind in BC – to begin your journey towards reconciliation by learning about and creating a greater understanding of Dane-zee culture, values and practices.
