Caravans showcase Alaska Highway History
Tourism Dawson Creek's Caravan Presentation Experience continues to be a memorable send-off for travellers embarking on the Alaska Highway. This summer, our team welcomed 19 caravan groups, up from 13 in 2025, sharing the rich history of Dawson Creek and the Alaska Highway through engaging presentations, personalized Mile 0 Certificates, curated welcome packages, and local expertise.

Summer Job Grant Supports Tourism DC
Tourism Dawson Creek is pleased to receive Canada Summer Jobs funding to support the hiring of four seasonal team members this summer. This funding helps create meaningful employment opportunities for youth while enhancing visitor services, supporting local tourism initiatives, and strengthening the experiences that welcome visitors to our community.
Tourism was on location at the Mile 0 Cruiser's Car Show July 12, 2026.
Upcoming Events
Dawson Creek Exhibition
The Greatest Show in the Peace is happening August 5-9, 2026, and Tourism DC will be there! The Dawson Creek Exhibition showcases an agricultural fair, rodeo and exhibition.
Tourism Dawson Creek will be on site at the Dawson Creek Agricultural Fair, Rodeo & Exhibition from August 5–9, 2026, operating the Mobile Visitor Centre throughout the event.
Our team will be there to welcome visitors, answer questions, provide travel information, and showcase everything Dawson Creek and the surrounding Peace Region have to offer. More than an information booth, the Mobile Visitor Centre will serve as an engaging and interactive hub where visitors can connect with our community, discover local experiences, and share their Exhibition memories.
We are also excited to be a featured presenter in the DCEA Community Square, a new interactive gathering space located adjacent to the new Horse Barn. The Community Square celebrates agriculture, western heritage, community organizations, and the many people and services that make the South Peace Region such a wonderful place to live.
As part of our participation, Tourism Dawson Creek will host a special Dawson Creek Trivia session in the Community Square on Friday, August 7, at 4:00 p.m. Visitors of all ages are invited to test their knowledge of Dawson Creek through a fun and interactive trivia challenge featuring local history, landmarks, interesting facts, and community highlights. Everyone is welcome to participate, and there may even be a few surprises along the way!
