Cairn Construction
Exciting improvements are coming to one of Dawson Creek’s most iconic photo spots!
The Alaska Highway Commemorative Cairn in NAR Park welcomes tens of thousands of visitors each year, and upcoming upgrades will help make the experience even more accessible, welcoming, and visitor friendly.
Following the refresh of the iconic “You Are Now Entering the World Famous Alaska Highway” sign in 2025, work is now continuing around the cairn area itself with improvements including:
- Improved accessibility
- New and refreshed surfaces
- Updated signage and visitor features
- Landscape enhancements around the site
We’re excited to continue enhancing this important stop for both visitors and residents exploring Dawson Creek and the Alaska Highway, and we thank visitors for their patience and understanding.
